If an item is showing as 'Available' on NELSON but is not on the shelves, there could be a number of reasons why:
- Somebody may be using it in the library.
- It may not be back in its correct place on the shelves as it may be on a trolley, or left on a table after use.
- It may have just been returned to the library. If the catalogue lists the items as 'recently returned' it will be in the process of being sorted and shelved.
- It’s always a good idea to double check NELSON to ensure you have the correct shelf mark, and you are looking at the right campus or in the right collection.
