Yes. The library remains open during the Christmas, Easter and summer vacations (see our full opening hours) and our loan procedures remain unchanged throughout this period.  This means that you are expected to renew your loans by their due date.

If one of your items has been requested for return during the vacation period, and you are unable to visit the Library, please arrange to post the item to us using recorded delivery.

Postal address;

The University of Northampton
Library and Learning Services
Park Campus
Boughton Green Road

Overdue requested items are fined at a rate of £1 per day, per item, until they are returned. Fines will not be charged on closed days (Christmas Day 25 Dec, Boxing Day 26 Dec, New Year's Day 1 Jan, Good Friday and Easter Sunday).

If you need to speak to the library about this matter you can email or for more urgent questions you can call us on 01604 89 3089.
